Write Like Jane

I seem to be on a bit of a book theme right now… I think I get into the zone once a month around the Herch Book Club meeting (usually because I am scrambling to finish the book!)

Anyhoo, here’s a site where you can download a font someone has created using Jane Austen’s handwriting. Maybe you need to write a dazzling love letter and having Jane on your side will get the juices flowing??

Colouring Pages from Photos

Here’s a fun tool I stumbled across – use Photoshop to make a colouring page from a photo in three easy steps!

Sure, you can have a little childhood throwback and make your own colouring book, but how about making some cheap yet chic wall art from a photo you’ve taken? Ooohhh, very mod!

Monday Diversion

Have you always wanted to see your name in lights? How about engraved on an Academy Award? Well, if you think your chances of seeing the real deal are slim, you can create a 2-d version for your viewing pleasure. Check out RedKid’s sign generator tool (http://www.redkid.net/generator/sign.php) for hours (well, minutes) of mindless entertainment. You can slap your name on a London Underground sign or write a love note in a bowl of alphabet soup. Yummy!

E-cards that don’t suck

If you like sending electronic cards but you’re a bit wary of dancing birthday cakes and singing frogs, you might like these elegant e-cards from the Museum of Modern Art. You can send Chagall’s “Birthday” (below), or how about a Dali or a van Gogh? Classy AND frugal!
